Upcoming TV: American Horror Story: Kathy Bates Update

From bloodydisgusting.com

TVLine writes that Misery psychopath Annie Wilkes apparently has nothing on the super-villain Kathy Bates, above, is bringing to “American Horror Story in Season 3.” “Oh, Kathy’s never [played] someone this bad,” Ryan Murphy revealed to TVLine. “Her [character] is a bad, bad woman!” While most details surrounding the acclaimed actress’ buzzy new role are being kept under wraps, Murphy couldn’t help but raise fans’ expectations just a teensy bit more by promising that Bates’ Horror Story nemesis is “five times worse than [her] Misery character — which is why she liked it.” He continued, “When I pitched this to Kathy, her mouth was drop-jawed because what I was pitching actually happened. It’s a true event… You’ll see. It’s some good stuff.” “American Horror Story,” one of the best sows on television, will return this fall on FX.

I am extremely extremely EXTREMELY excited about Kathy Bates coming to "American Horror Story" it's the best thing to happen to the show since it started.

Upcoming TV: The Walking Dead

Former showrunner of "The Walking Dead" Glen Mazzara has recently done an interview with scenestr.com and in it he said that the season 3 finally will be a "bombshell".

Honestly the show is really good, but I feel like this season all they have done is kill characters off, that's not fun for me at all.

What's your thoughts and opinions on this season?

What's your predictions for the "bombshell" finally?

Today In Horror History

February 28, 1986
On this day in Horror History, House made it’s theatrical debut. From the beginning it would be shroud in many other humorous and slapstick zombie films of the decade but would never lose its luster to horror fans, and remains a cult favorite. The story of Roger Cobb and the fatefully disturbing events that plagued him in his deceased aunt’s house, will always have a special place in the horror genre.

Harold: Hey, it's great to have a new neighbor. Woman lived here before you was nuts. Biggest bitch under the sun. Just a senile old hag really. Wouldn't be surprised if someone just got fed up and offed her. Know what I mean?

Roger: She was my aunt.

Harold: Heart of gold though. Just uh, a saint really. And uh such a beautiful woman, for her age.

On this day in Horror History, James Wan was born. Wan is considered to be one of the founding “Splat Pack” film-makers; a group of directors famed for their brutal and stylistic approach to horror in the last decade. With such credits as the SAW (2004), Dead Silence (2007), and Insidious (2010), the writing and directorial talent of James Wan has become a vision of the new depths of the eloquently grotesque future of the horror genre.

“We think craft is important, and the irony has always been that horror may be disregarded by critics, but often they are the best-made movies you're going to find in terms of craft. You can't scare people if they see the seams.” –James Wan

My Personal Thoughts: I hate "Saw" i find it disgusting and tasteless. Dead Silence was ok to say the least. and i have yet to see "Insidious" but i shall do that soon. i hear lots of good things about it.

TV news: American Horror Story Season 3

On this day in Horror History, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari made it’s theatrical debut. Widely considered to be the first horror film regardless of the few elementally similar of the silent film era that preceded it, it is undoubtedly the advent to most all horror films for the stylized and dramatic aura of the sinister that has made it a staple in movie history. Most every media has derived some form of inspiration from the film that was originally scoffed at. Yet it would inevitably play for 7 years straight in Germany. Into today, film-makers, musicians, and artists abound find themselves compelled by the paper props and set design, painted shadows and what was the first film to ever utilize a surprise ending.

“You fools, this man is plotting our doom! We die at dawn! He is Caligari!” -Francis

On this day in Horror History, Isabelle Fuhrman was born. Considered to be one of the most prolifically brilliant child actors of the last decade, it was her role as Esther in Orphan (2009) that brought her before the eyes of the horror genre and its undying fans. At her young age she has already shown an acting prowess and versatility that sheds light on the future of the industry. Keep an eye out for Isabelle in both the remake of Suspiria (1977) from director David Gordon Green and M. Night Shyamalan’s After Earth slated to hit theaters June 7th.

“I never saw Esther as scary and was never afraid of her either. Esther's dream is to find love and a perfect family that would appreciate her. She wants it so badly that she has to remove all the obstacles on her way to achieving her dream. It's a life-or-death stakes for her.”- Isabelle Fuhrman

My Personal Thoughts: This scares me to death!!!! The only 2 movies i have seen her in are Orphan and The Hunger Games and she was pretty brutal and scary.

Today In Horror History

On this day in Horror History, The Toxic Avenger Part II made it's American debut. As the second installment of Troma's cult franchise, it continues with the story of the tutu wearing mutant Toxie. The highly anticipated film itself would not only become one of the most beloved starring the mop wielding protagonist, it would inevitably become the third film as well due to more than four hours of footage, also marking the acting debut of Michael Jai White, who would later go on to lead in Spawn (1997).

Today In Horror History!

February 23, 1964
On this day in Horror History, Special Agent Dana Katherine Scully is born. Opposite of Agent Fox Mulder on The X-Files, she would investigate a plethora of paranormal phenomena for the FBI. Played by the stunning Gillian Anderson, Scully is a cult icon of a generation and will forever be the skeptic that stole our hearts.

“Time passes in moments ... moments which, rushing past define the path of a life just as surely as they lead towards its end. How rarely do we stop to examine that path, to see the reasons why all things happen, to consider whether the path we take in life is our own making or simply one into which we drift with eyes closed?”-Agent Scully

Today In Horror History

On this day in Horror History, actor Thomas Jane was born. Familiar to the horror genre in countless ways, his resume is incredible to say the least. With leading roles in The Mist (2007), Dreamcatcher (2003), and the popular Punisher reboot as Frank Castle himself, Jane has shown a multitude of talent in some very arduous and memorable roles. Even more peculiar, is his place in several smaller budget horror films like The Tripper (2006), which have shown that his love for film is not limited to the blockbusters that he has blessed throughout the years. Keep an eye on the acting veteran, for his role in “Pawn Shop Chronicles” slated for a 2013 release, acting opposite of The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus.

“I like broad comedies, hard core action, serious drama, science fiction, I love horror films. What draws me to them is their purity of vision that they are exactly what they say they are - that their a great embodiment of a horror film or a great drama. I guess that's what draws me to a film - the quality of a film.”-Thomas Jane

On this day in Horror History, The Hitcher made it’s theatrical debut. The cult classic featuring actor Rutger Hauer (Hobo with a Shotgun) as a depraved hitchhiker, still continues to amaze a generation. Cut from another cloth than most of the thrillers of the 80’s, The Hitcher still found itself in the same light as many other films of the period, as it was remade in 2007 with Sean Bean as the iconic antagonist hell-bent on ruining the life of the unsuspecting driver.

Horror Fact!

Movie: Halloween
Release Date: October 30th 1978
Fact:Donald Pleasence did all of his scenes in only 5 days of shooting. The total duration of his scenes is just over 18 minutes.

Halloween is my all time my favorite horror movie, I know so much about this entire franchise, and John Carpenter is a cinematic Genuis.

Today In Horror History

February 20, 1936
On this day in Horror History, Maximilian Schreck passed away. Perhaps one of the most peculiar personalities in cinematic history, the famed actor’s role as Nosferatu would more than solidify him as a staple of the horror genre; it would lead to nearly a century of speculation that he was in fact a real vampire.

The talented and domineering personality that Schreck brought to the role in one of the first appearances of the blood sucking antagonist on film, would ultimately lead to being portrayed by Willem Dafoe as Count Orlok in Shadow of the Vampire (2000), a movie that celebrated the notion that Max’s prowess in personification was a result of actually being the creature he embodied. Schreck whose name literally translates to "terror" in German, continues to amaze horror fans, and will always be an icon of a time lost, but never forgotten.

Today In Horror History

February 19, 1993
On this day in Horror History, Army of Darkness debuted in theaters. A cult classic in every sense of the word, the epic saga follows protagonist Ash Williams and his transportation to 1300 AD where his struggle to return home is slowed by a war with the living dead. As the third installment of the widely celebrated Evil Dead trilogy, the cinematic masterpiece has solidified its place in the hearts of horror fans worldwide, and will continue to inspire and entertain for the rest of time.
