On this day in Horror History, The Hitcher made it’s theatrical debut. The cult classic featuring actor Rutger Hauer (Hobo with a Shotgun) as a depraved hitchhiker, still continues to amaze a generation. Cut from another cloth than most of the thrillers of the 80’s, The Hitcher still found itself in the same light as many other films of the period, as it was remade in 2007 with Sean Bean as the iconic antagonist hell-bent on ruining the life of the unsuspecting driver.
