Today in horror history

May 5, 1940
On this day in Horror History, Lance Henriksen was born. One of the most prolific and versatile horror icons in history, Henriksen has starred in such films as Damien: Omen II (1978), Pumpkinhead (1988), Aliens (1986), and countless more. The only actor to have ever faced the Terminator, the Xenomorph Alien, Predator, and the ominous beings in Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), Henrikson’s acting prowess has been embedded into some of the most beloved cult films of all time.

“I'm pretty slapstick in my life but nobody sees that. You get typecast. I'm from New York and I have a shit-detector that's outspoken. I'm very streetwise and the producers detect that. So they get me on a movie and kill me. I go into their offices and I'm sure when I leave they say, "You know, he'd be great to kill". I've been killed every way you can imagine.” –Lance Henrikson
