On this day in Horror
History, Olivia Hussey was born. A horror starlet that has lent her
beauty and talent to Black Christmas (1974) and Stephen King’s IT
(1990), the veteran actress of Argentina descent has stunned audiences
for nearly half a century. In her break-out role as Juliet in the
classic Franco Zeffirelli film adaption of the Shakespeare play, she
would captivate movie goers and spawn an illustrious career. It was
after the release of that film, that Hussey would ultimately find
herself in one of the most peculiar of circumstances ever experienced by
any actress, as she was unable to legally view the premier of Romeo and
Juliet (1968) in London because she was under the age of 18 and the
film had a nude scene.. Regardless that she was the one nude in the
film.
“Have the confidence to be your own person.” - Olivia Hussey
